Employment Law

Employment law is one of the most dynamic areas of Swiss law, as evidenced by the significant number of decisions issued by the Swiss Federal Supreme Court. It plays a central role in an economic environment undergoing constant change, marked by the emergence of new forms of work such as remote working, hybrid models, digital platforms and increased contractual flexibility—developments whose importance was further reinforced by the COVID-19 pandemic. These changes have made human resources management more complex and require precise, strategic and responsive legal support.

Our specialised lawyers advise and assist both employers and employees in all matters relating to the employment relationship, including day-to-day HR management, the drafting and review of employment contracts, regulatory compliance and dispute resolution. We also practise public employment law, advising municipalities, administrative authorities, hospitals and public institutions, as well as their employees, on all matters governed by public employment law.

Our practice includes in particular the drafting and adaptation of employment contracts and specific clauses (bonus schemes, remote working, non-compete and confidentiality clauses), support to companies in implementing HR policies compliant with Swiss law (internal regulations, equality, occupational health and safety, working time), as well as the management of employment terminations. This includes individual and collective dismissals, negotiated departures, employment references and disciplinary procedures. We also advise on collective labour law matters, including collective bargaining agreements, relations with trade unions and public sector employment law, and support executives and senior management on issues relating to remuneration, incentive schemes, international mobility and confidentiality.

The added value of our specialised lawyers lies in a rigorous, pragmatic and human-centred approach, focused on preventing conflicts and effectively protecting our clients’ interests. We represent our clients before conciliation authorities, civil courts and administrative bodies, and regularly act in complex matters such as collective redundancies, restructurings, administrative proceedings and harassment cases, in both the private and public sectors.
